May 29 - THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA: Because B movies and lost skeletons are magic!  2001, Comedy, Dir. Larry Blamire.  Fay Masterson, Brian Howe, Jennifer Blaire.  Prepare to be afeared!!!!!

 

June 5 - OPEN YOUR EYES (Abre Los Ojos): Sci-Fi memory magic.  Abre Los Ojos is reported to be much better than the American remake, Vanilla Sky.

Interesting fact:  Penelope Cruz later plays the same character (Sofia) in Vanilla Sky.

 

June 12 - SHAO-LIN SOCCER:  Because soccer is magic (especially when you know kung-fu)!  A young Shaolin follower reunites with his discouraged brothers to form a soccer team using their martial art skills to their advantage.

 

June 19 - TIME BANDITS: Because Time-Traveling Dwarves are Magic!  John Cleese, Sean Connery & Craig Warnock as Kevin.  An instant Classic written by Terry Gilliam (Dir.) and Michael Palin.  Music and Cash provided by George Harrison (Yeah, That George Harrison).  A young boy accidentally joins a band of dwarves as they jump from time-period to time-period looking for treasure to steal.

 

June 26 - NAUSICAA of the Valley of the Wind: Because Miyazaki is Magic!  1984, Anime, Written & Directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away).  Princess Nausicaa must defend her valley from evil bad guys and the Poison Jungle.  We thought our jobs were tough!  Sheesh!

 

July 10 - MICROCOSMOS: Because Nature is Magic!  A documentary of insect life in meadows and ponds, using incredible close-ups, slow motion, and time-lapse photography. 

 

July 17 - CHOCOLAT: Because chocolate is magic!!!!  Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Lena Olin, and Victoire Thivisol as Anouk.  A woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the rigid morality of the community.  Chocolate themed, Magic movie night finale extravaganza!!!!
